WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas -- A new judge has been appointed in the Greg Kelley case, according to a letter sent from the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Texas.
The letter, written from Chief Justice Nathan Hecht to Judge Michael McSpadden, said Judge Billy Ray Stubbenfield recused himself from the case and that McSpadden would take over all future proceedings, effective immediately.

Kelley was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy.
