AUSTIN, Texas — One of the largest Latin-owned restaurant groups in Central Texas is at it again.

Gabriela's Group unveiled a smaller, scaled-down version of its popular Sinaloa-style seafood restaurant, Seareinas, this week.

La Searienta is now open in East Austin with a limited food menu similar to the restaurant's flagship location along Interstate 35 in northeast Austin.

The Burleson Road location takes over a space previously occupied by Whataburger. It also has plans for a drive-thru menu that will allow Austinites to take micheladas and other cocktails to-go in the coming weeks.

It's the 13th project created by the group that Gabriela Bucio cofounded and the 11th project in the Austin area.

Originally founded in 2018, the company operates Gabrielas Downtown, Gabrielas South Austin, Taquero Mucho and Revival Coffee. They also operate a pair of nightclubs in Austin and opened two new nightclubs in Houston.
