No injuries in Double Creek evacuation after gas leak

A hazmat situation has shut down Double Creek Drive in Round Rock, police say.

ROUND ROCK, Texas -- The Double Creek area in Round Rock was evacuated "due to leaking of unknown gas" Thursday, according to police.

Police tweeted about the incident around 8:30 a.m. saying Double Creek Drive was shut down due to a hazmat situation at Exfluor Research Corporation located at 2350 Double Creek Drive. The City of Round Rock said the incident was contained in the building and employees were evacuated.

Officials said a gaseous cloud remained in the building as of 4 p.m. Thursday.

Double Creek Drive was closed from the SH 45 frontage road to Gattis School Road. After the release was contained, police closed the area from Bryant Drive to the SH 45 frontage road. As of 5 p.m. Thursday Double Creek Drive was open.

No injuries were reported.
