AUSTIN, Texas — Officials with Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) conducted a water rescue Sunday morning after a vehicle was swept into a creek in north Austin.
ATCEMS officials said they received a call at around 7 a.m. that reported a vehicle with multiple occupants being swept into a creek in the 1100 block of Rutland Drive, near the Quail Creek Neighborhood Park.
Upon arriving, EMS were alerted to another vehicle that had been lodged upside down in the creek, but officials were unable to search the vehicle due to the force of the water, and will reevaluate when the water recedes. EMS officials said they are looking for a person that the driver of the swept vehicle claimed to have seen.
Two people were rescued from the water, and no one was taken to the hospital.
The Austin Police Department, Austin Fire Department and Travis County STAR Flight assisted in the rescue.
