ROUND ROCK, Texas — Round Rock police said earlier reports that a person with a gun was walking near an elementary school might have been a false alarm, and police said it's possible the individual was a photographer carrying a camera.

Police tweeted that multiple units from the Round Rock Police Department responded to Old Town Elementary School after reports of a person in the area with a possible gun just before 10:45 a.m. Police said the reported armed individual apparently left the neighborhood.

Round Rock ISD told KVUE that the school went into lockdown just before 10:30 a.m. and it is no longer ongoing. School officials said staff and students were safe.

At noon, police said the individual could have been a photographer with a camera and not a gun. Police said they are searching for the vehicle associated with the individual.

This is a developing story. KVUE will update this page as more information becomes available.
