AUSTIN, Texas — Police have identified the body of a man found with gunshot wounds on Monday morning in southeast Austin.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the body of Rigoberto Castro-Momner was discovered off U.S. 183, near Metropolis Drive and McCall Lane.
APD received a 911 call at approximately 3:38 a.m. about an abandoned vehicle parked in a field in the 2900 block of South U.S. 183 southbound. At approximately 3:54 a.m., officers arrived on the scene and found Castro-Momner lying on the ground, outside the vehicle, with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists are investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.
APD said this is an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public.
