AUSTIN, Texas — One person is dead Tuesday morning after a crash in North Austin, according to first responders.
Austin-Travis County EMS said a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle just after 3:30 a.m. in the 11000 block of N. Interstate 35, heading southbound.
First responders said the adult died on scene.
Austin police said the driver of the vehicle was not injured, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
This is being investigated as Austin's 78th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 83 deaths. On the date of this crash in 2023, 77 fatal crashes resulted in 80 deaths.
