Car crashes into North Austin pho restaurant

Police said that the crash doesn't appear intentional at this time.

AUSTIN, Texas — A car crashed into a pho restaurant in North Austin Thursday afternoon.

The Austin Police Department (APD) confirmed that just before 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a crash call in the 8500 block of Research Boulevard. A KVUE photojournalist on the scene confirmed that a car crashed into the Pho Van restaurant in the area, near Ramen Tatsu-ya, one parking lot over from the Target.

APD said no injuries were reported and, at this time, it doesn't appear the crash was intentional.

There is no estimate on the extent of the damage at this time, but a photo taken by KVUE's photojournalist shows a notable amount of destruction:

This is at least the second instance of a car crashing into a Austin building this February. Earlier this month, a car crashed into St. David's North Austin Medical Center, killing one person and injuring five others.
