PFLUGERVILLE, Texas -- The Pflugerville Police Department is looking out for more than just the average cold-hearted criminals this summer. And this isn't the first time they've done this.
As part of the summer safety campaign "Cool Moves," children caught practicing safety will receive a ticket from PPD, but not the kind of ticket most parents are used to.

PPD will hand out a ticket for free ice cream to kids caught:
- Wearing a helmet while riding a bike, scooter, skateboard or roller blades
- Crossing at a crosswalk
- Obeying traffic laws and using correct hand signals while riding a bike
- Stopping at the curb to look both ways before crossing the street
According to PPD, officers give out over 500 tickets to children each summer.
Kids caught "busting a cool move" can cash in their ticket for a free ice cream treat at Chick-fil-A, Menchies Frozen Yogurt, McDonald's, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Baskin-Robbins, Andy's Frozen Custard or Zaxby's.
