Police rescue cow stuck in Brushy Creek water

Round Rock police said the 1,500-pound cow was up to her neck in water and was completely immobilized.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — A cow is now back home safe and sound after she got stuck in water.

Round Rock police said at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, they were called to Veteran's Park after receiving a report of a cow stuck in Brushy Creek. According to police, the 1,500-pound cow was up to her neck in water and couldn't move.

Police said they, along with help from Animal Control and a few volunteers, were able to get the cow out by using a canoe to paddle out to her and putting a leash around her neck. Police then reportedly placed straps around the cow and used an ATV to pull her to dry land.

Animal Control also reportedly called RRPD and the Williamson County Sheriff's Department Livestock Deputy for additional help. Police said three Henna Chevrolet employees also helped get the cow to safety.

Police said the cow was rescued safely and has been returned to her owners.
