Police are searching for the suspect in a shooting that left one person injured in Dripping Springs, the Hay's County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
The shooting was reported at 4:21 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at 28821 Ranch Road 12. The shooting was at a private house near Dripping Springs Elementary School.
Responding officers found a 26-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury, HCSO said.
The victim was later identified as Joe Anthony Cortez. He was treated and released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Deputies learned that the victim was shot during an argument with the suspect, who fled the scene before deputies arrived. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Grosbin Sabillon. He is described as approximately 5'7" in height, weighing 160 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium skin tone. He has no visible tattoos.
Sabillon left the scene driving in an unknown direction in a 2006 red Dodge four-door truck with tinted windows. He is believed to be carrying a handgun.
HCSO has issued a warrant for Sabillion's arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. He is considered armed and dangerous.
