AUSTIN, Texas — Hundreds of people gathered at Givens Park on Sunday to remember the man who was killed last week.
Police are still looking for the suspects who they say robbed, shot and killed Andre Davis Jr.
The community released balloons on Sunday in honor of Davis during the Day of Healing.
Organizers said the day gave people in the community a chance to have some fun, play games and just talk to each other.
"We just want to do something positive for the East side of Austin, stop the negativity," said Michael Wade, one of the balloon release organizers. "Let everybody know we can come together and stop the violence, the gun violence."
Wade said there has been a lot of violence recently, so they wanted a day filled with "peace, love and unity."
