AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating a homicide in Downtown Austin on Saturday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m., 911 received multiple reports of gunshots and a victim located at the 90 block of Red River Street, in the Rainey Street District.
Officers arriving on the scene found a man "with obvious signs of trauma to his body," police said. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:11 a.m.
APD does not have any information on a suspect.
