AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - What's a governor to do after getting booked on felony charges? Go for ice cream.
Minutes after he was fingerprinted at the Travis County Courthouse, Texas Gov. Rick Perry posted a photo Tuesday from his official Twitter account of him outside Sandy's Hamburgers in downtown Austin.
The photo shows Perry holding an ice cream cone, with his arm around an unidentified woman. His attorneys, David Botsford and Tony Buzbee, are standing nearby with their own ice cream cones.
Perry was defiant before and after being booked on two felony charges accusing him of abusing power when he vetoed money for a Travis County prosecutors' unit investigating public corruption.
Surrounded by dozens of chanting supporters, Perry called the indictment an abuse of power and said he was confident he would prevail.
