Round Rock PD to honor the doctor who aided officer who was struck by a vehicle

The Round Rock Police Department will present the Heroism Award to Doctor Robert Cinclair Thursday for his efforts in extending Officer Charles Whites' life.

On Feb. 25, 2018, Officer Whites was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic around a crime scene.

Dr. Cinclair saw the vehicle hit Officer Whites, stopped to help him and opened Whites' airway to allow him to start breathing again. Cinclair then waited with him until the EMS arrived.

Officer Whites died from his injuries on April 27.

"This heroic and compassionate act allowed Officer Whites' family, friends and Round Rock Police family to be with him for another two months," Nick Olivier, Round Rock PD's public information specialist, said.

Round Rock PD Chief Allen Banks and Officer Whites' wife, Connie, will present the award to Dr. Cinclair at the beginning of the Round Rock City Council meeting on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. at 221 E. Main Street in Round Rock.
