Police on Tuesday said they have arrested a man they believe has been throwing rocks at San Marcos businesses.
Zachary Alan McClish, 48, faces three counts of criminal mischief under $750 and one count of criminal mischief under $2,500 for breaking windows downtown.
Since Dec. 21, there have been four incidents around the downtown San Marcos "Square" of rocks being thrown through windows.
The first happened at Sean Patrick's Irish Pub, where the bar told KVUE their surveillance footage caught McClish walking up to the front doors and throwing a rock through the window, which also broke a hole in one of their signs.
Repairs cost the bar around $500.
Over on Guadalupe Street, KZSM had a similar scene in late December.
A rock was thrown through the window, which is now covered with tape and signs. The non-profit radio station humorously put the rocks on display as the culprit.
“I feel kinda sad. I’m a little mad that it happened," said KZSM radio host Tina Gonzales.

She wasn't sure how much it would cost, but told KVUE, "We already know it's gonna cost a pretty penny."
Just a block away, duct tape covers up a whole at the Cafe on the Square. A rock was thrown through their window early Thursday morning.
"We were preparing for another Thursday morning and I hear a huge crash," said General Manager Esther Henk.
The huge crash was caused by this man.
The surveillance footage shows McClish walking past the cafe at first and picking something up. Then he walks back and throws a rock through the window, retreating.
Henk tried to confront McClish.
"And I come running out to see what happened – I walk out the front door and I see a man in a big bulky coat halfway across the street ... I was like – 'Hey!' tried to call after him ... he turned around and he said I didn't do it! I didn't do it!" said Henk.
She's just glad no one was hurt and says the window will cost up to $1,000 to fix.
"It boggles my mind why anybody would take it upon themselves to be destructive – for no apparent reason," said Henk.
The fourth business that reported a similar incident was Barefoot Campus Outfitters.
Multiple individuals identified McClish as the suspect. Police believe he is homeless and spends a lot of time in the downtown area. Warrants were served to him while he was in the Hays County Jail on unrelated charges.
As of Tuesday evening, police said McClish did not reveal a motive.
