Second highest cedar pollen count of the season recorded in Austin

Cedar fever is coming in strong for last minute holiday shoppers in Austin. But, we may finally get a break just in time for Christmas!

AUSTIN — With Christmas just around the corner and the last thing Austinites want to deal with is cedar fever!.

Unfortunately, it's not going anywhere. Check out Friday morning's allergy count.

The KVUE Storm Team recorded cedar pollen at 6,074 gr/m3. This is the second highest recording of the season. The hightest was on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7992 gr/m3.

A dry front will push through this weekend keeping cedar on the high side with a breezy northwest wind. Winds will shift to a south wind Monday with rain chances in the forecast next week. This should help suppress cedar a bit and give the Austin area a break just in time for Christmas.
