LOS ANGELES — The Hollywood star honoring the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla Perez, was vandalized with black paint this week, according to the LA Times.

Selena's star was vandalized twice along with the star of fellow Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera. The first incident happened on Monday morning, according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the organization that oversees the Walk of Fame. Video began circulating on social media of crews and fans helping to clean up the paint.

The stars were both vandalized again Tuesday morning, according to the LA Times. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then called for additional cleanup crews.

Selena got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017, 22 years after her murder in 1995. The rising Tejano star had multiple hits by that time and was on the cusp of breaking into the mainstream pop music world.

Rivera's Hollywood star was dedicated just earlier this year. Both stars met with a tragic end. Rivera was killed in a plane crash in 2012.

A TikTok video posted by @yesimoyito Tuesday shows fans cleaning up Selena's and Jenni Rivera's Hollywood stars.

Selena was tragically killed on March 31, 1995 in Corpus Christi, just days before her 24th birthday, but is still celebrated and honored more than 25 years later. Recently, fans celebrated the 30th anniversary of "Amor Prohibido" with a remastered version of the smash 1994 album.

The woman convicted of killing Selena, Yolanda Saldivar, was the president of her fan club and was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to life in prison. She recently gave an interview with the Oxygen network about the murder case. She is set for parole in 2025.
