The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a small plane accident after its landing gear collapsed while it was touching down at a Georgetown airport Monday morning.

According to the FAA, the plane, a Piaggio P180, slid off the right side of the runway and into the grass after its right main gear collapsed. Officials said the plane stopped about 1,000 feet from the end of the runway.
