AUSTIN -- Police have formally charged a son after his fathers death on Wednesday.
Alexander Scott Ervin, 20, has been charged with first degree murder.
Just after 6 p.m. Sept. 18, investigators were called to the 2600 block of Horseshoe Bend Drive in West Austin.
Police say Ervin's other son witnessed the stabbing and called 911. They don't know what sparked the violence.
His father Scott Ervin, 58, was found with stab wounds to his torso and lower body. He was rushed to University Medical Center Brackenridge where he was pronounced dead around 7 p.m.
His bond has been set at $1 million.
