Recognize her? Teen accused of killing Sonic manager may be in Austin

More than two months after the murder of a Sonic manager, police say they've arrested a suspected getaway driver but not the killer.

AUSTIN, Texas — More than two months after a Sonic manager was killed in San Antonio, the search for a suspect has turned to Austin.

Adiah Damir Roberson, 17, is accused of shooting Daniel Shrewsbury to death following a disturbance that happened in July.

Shrewsbury, who covered the overnight shift, was killed just one week before his 34th birthday. Authorities say he had just arrived at work when he learned Roberson took money from an employee.

When Shrewsbury went to snap a picture of the suspect vehicle's license plate, police say Adiah got out of the vehicle and shot Shrewsbury in the chest. He made it inside before collapsing.

San Antonio police say Roberson has eluded law enforcement since an arrest warrant was issued in the shooting. She's wanted for murder and forgery.

Coworker discusses fake money argument

Shrewsbury's coworker, Carlos, said Roberson was with two other people at the Sonic before the shooting.

According to Carlos, an employee working the drive-thru said the group gave them attitude, so he went to take care of it. That's when Carlos said the group gave him fake money.

The trio then entered the kitchen after an argument, however, Carlos said he received real money after that. The situation only escalated when Carlos said Roberson entered the kitchen a second time.

"If the girl would have never come in a second time, my friend would still be here," Carlos told KVUE's sister station KENS 5. "She came inside and was upset ... started throwing drinks."

Roberson took off with a tip cup that had about $100, according to Carlos. That's when Shrewsbury stepped outside and started taking photos of their license plate. Investigators said that's when Shrewsbury was shot in the chest.

Joshua Joseph of New Orleans was arrested after the incident and is accused of driving the getaway car in the incident. However, police said Roberson and a third person are still at large.

If you know where Roberson is, you're asked to contact Capital Area Crime Stoppers by visiting their website or calling 512-472-8477. You can also contact San Antonio police at 210-207-7365.
