AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department has detained a person of interest after a homicide that happened in southeast Austin on Tuesday evening.
Police said the incident happened just after 5 p.m. on Mickelson Drive.
APD said officers were called to the scene after reports of a person with injuries inside a house. Police said the person did not live at the house.
Police performed life-saving measures but the person was pronounced dead on the scene.
Homicide detectives have detained a person of interest and are interviewing that person, APD said.
It's believed this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
