Student hurt after being hit by vehicle in Leander high school parking lot

Two teens were involved in the incident Thursday morning.

AUSTIN, Texas — A 13-year-old student was taken to a hospital Thursday after being hit by a vehicle at Rouse High School in Leander.

According to the city of Leander, the incident occurred at around 7:50 a.m. Thursday. The student was walking through the school's parking lot when they were hit by a vehicle being driven by a 17-year-old student.

The Leander Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the 13-year-old was dealing with minor injuries. They were taken to an ambulance staged close by, then taken to the hospital for treatment.

As the incident occurred between two people under the age of 18, no information on their identities will be released.
