The Taylor Police Department arrested a Taylor High School coach after an investigation revealed that she had engaged in an improper relationship with a student, according to Taylor PD.
On March 29, school officials reported to police that there was a possible improper relationship between the varsity softball coach, Kendall Lucas, 25, and a 17-year-old female student. An investigation determined that Lucas had been involved with the student from March 2016 until May of 2016, Taylor PD said.
When detectives interviewed Lucas, she confessed to having a sexual relationship with a female student on the varsity softball team. Detectives also interviewed other students and coaches.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Lucas' arrest and on Friday she turned herself in at the Travis County Jail.
Lucas was charged with Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student, a second-degree felony.
Police said they are not aware of any other victims.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Detective Aaron Koch or Sgt. Sam Brister with the Taylor Police Department at 512-352-5551.
