In honor of the five slain Dallas officers, Texas officials have ordered that Texas flags across the state be lowered to half-staff Friday until July 12 at sunset.
Thursday night's shooting has been deemed the worst attack on United States law enforcement since Sept. 11, 2001.
"Texas has sustained a deliberate and dreadful attack against law enforcement in Dallas," Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said "as acting governor" in a statement Friday. "The people of Texas revere the men and women in law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve their communities."
