Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller posted a photo of Whoopi Goldberg to his Facebook page on Wednesday morning which showed Goldberg wearing a t-shirt of President Donald Trump shooting himself in the head.

Miller called for the cancellation of The View -- a talk show featuring Goldberg -- because of the photo and made reference to ABC pulling the plug on "Roseanne" when Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet about Obama White House adviser Valerie Jarrett.

The only problem was the photo is not real, but an altered photo.

In the post, Miller wrote:

"While I in no way condone the highly inappropriate tweet sent by comedian Roseanne Barr, I call on ABC Television to maintain the same standards that they used in cancelling the Roseanne Show and also cancel The View. It's hosts have made similarly outrageous comments about President Donald J. Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and others in their administration. If proven true, Whoopi Goldberg's wearing of a shirt depicting our President being shot in the head is grounds for immediate termination. At present, all I see is hypocrisy and double standards from ABC. As we say in the country 'what's good for the goose is good for the gander'."

Goldberg originally addressed the altered photo on The View in April 2017, which can be seen in the video below or by clicking here.

"Even though I don't care for this man, I would never wear the shirt that's there," Goldberg said on The View in April 2017.

Goldberg showed original footage of the event she attended, where she is seen wearing a t-shirt that reads, "And you thought I was a nasty woman before? Buckle up, buttercup," and not what the altered photo depicts.

The fake image was also retweeted by Roseanne Barr during a Tuesday Twitter tirade when ABC cancelled Barr's revived sitcom, according to Politifact.

Todd Smith, Miller’s campaign spokesman, said that neither he nor the commissioner knew if the doctored photo was real before posting it to the Facebook page, the Statesman reported.

“We post hundreds of things a week. We put stuff out there. We’re like Fox News. We report, we let people decide,” Smith told the Statesman.

Later Wednesday evening, Miller posted to his Facebook again, with a similar message, but a different photo.

The new Facebook post featured a photo of Barack Obama on the set of the View with its hosts and read:

"While I in no way condone the highly inappropriate tweet sent by comedian Roseanne Barr, I call on the ABC Television Networks to maintain the same standards that they used in cancelling the Roseanne show and also cancel The View. It's hosts have made similarly outrageous comments about President Donald J. Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and others in their administration and Co-host Joy Behar has attacked Christians, including the Vice President for their deeply held faith. At present, all I see is hypocrisy and double standards from ABC. As we say in the country 'what's good for the goose is good for the gander.'"
