SAN MARCOS, Texas — Students at Texas State University in San Marcos won't have to attend some classes Tuesday, according to the official Twitter account for the university.
At 11:30 a.m., the university said the San Marcos campus had lost power. Minutes later, the university said that anyone who was in class on campus was asked to leave their buildings "as safely as possible."
A campus-wide alert was sent at approximately 11:45 a.m. canceling classes that were ongoing at that moment and canceling classes that were scheduled to start at noon and 12:30 p.m.
A follow-up message was sent stating that classes would resume at 1 p.m. because power had been restored to the majority of the San Marcos campus.
