AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is looking for two fugitives wanted for crimes committed in Central Texas, including sexual assault of a child.
According to DPS, 25-year-old Fabian Martinez Toribio and 32-year-old Octavio Cruz Hernandez are now part of the “Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List,” which was launched by Gov. Greg Abbott last month. DPS said the list is similar to other Texas 10 Most Wanted lists and fugitives from the list “may be selected as the department’s monthly featured fugitive.”
The Austin Police Department has been searching for Toribio since January for aggravated sexual assault of a child. In February, a warrant was also issued out of Travis County for his arrest for possession of a controlled substance, DPS said. The Manor Police Department arrested Toribio in October of last year for resisting arrest and search, as well as possession of a controlled substance. He later bonded out of jail.
Toribio is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has ties to Travis County, including Austin and Pflugerville.
Hernandez has been wanted out of Bastrop County since April for sex abuse of a child under 14. In September 2019, he was convicted of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 in Travis County. In July 2022, the Kyle Police Department arrested Hernandez for driving while intoxicated.
Hernandez is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He has ties to Travis, Hays and Bastrop counties, including Austin, Kyle, Dripping Springs and Cedar Creek.
Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of either man. All tips are anonymous.
