New Year's Eve Family Friendly Events in Austin

Austin's New Year

Celebrate the start of the new year with family at friends by enjoying live music, food and art at this free event. Kids can also get a taste of "fairyland" and take rides on a train or try face painting.

When: Dec. 31 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Willie Nelson & Family New Year

Willie Nelson is continuing his tradition of ringing in the new year by performing at Austin City Limits Live. Join him the last weekend of December to end the year on a high note.

Saengerrunde NYE Gala

Austin Saengerrunde, a German heritage organization, is throwing a NYE celebration full of dancing and live music. This event will include a champagne toast and German breakfast when the clock strikes midnight.

When: Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Happy Noon Year Cruise

If you're looking to avoid NYE craziness and want a more relaxed and fun celebration, this Austin cruise is for you! The cruise will take you for a tour of Austin on a double-decker boat on Lady Bird Lake. The cruise will feature an open bar, retro music, three-course buffet, photo booth and more.

Gatsby's House

New Year's Eve at Rock Rose

This is a party that has an extra pop to it with aerialists, fire performers and more!

Saved by the Ball 2: The Max

Cheer Up Charlies is throwing a 90s-themed celebration full of food and turns from the 80s, 90s and 00s. End the year by throwin' it back!

The Capitol Countdown at The Belmont

End the year with high energy and style at this NYE bash. This party will feature a dancefloor, heated outdoor courtyard, a DJ and more. You're not going to miss this countdown.

When: Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

New Year's Eve Charity Bash by TLC Austin

This restaurant will have some of the proceeds made on New Year's Eve be donated to the The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and The Children's Tumor Foundation.

Location: 1100 South Lamar Boulevard

When: 7 p.m.

Operations Manager Geoff Freeman said the purpose of the charity is also personal.

“Both foundations are connected to close family and friends of ours that are personally affected. So, we thought something for New Year's Eve, that would be a good way to support both of the causes."

They have a goal of raising $5,000.

A Very Austin NYE on the downtown Library Rooftop

Get a front row seat to Vic Mathias Shores' New Year's Eve Fireworks show and a limited open bar on top of the Austin Public Library downtown. The event is sponsored by ELM Restaurant group.

When: 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
