Tony Award-winning 'Hamilton' coming to Austin's Bass Concert Hall

Hold on to your wigs, "Hamilton" won't visit Austin until 2019.

If rapping founding fathers are your cup of tea, you're in luck because the smash Broadway hit "Hamilton" is coming to Austin.

But hold your horses, tickets aren't on sale yet -- and doors don't open until 2019.

One of the most successful Broadway shows in recent history, "Hamilton" tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, blending hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway. With book, music and lyrics written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is the story of "American then, as told by America now."

Presented by Lexus Broadway in Austin, "Hamilton" will be featured in its 2018-2019 season, along with:

- "The Play That Goes Wrong," Oct. 23-28, 2018

- "Love Never Dies," Nov. 27 to Dec. 2, 2018

- "Waitress," Jan. 22-27, 2019

- "Anastasia," Feb. 12-17, 2019

- "Fiddler on the Roof," April 2-7, 2019

- "Cats," May 7-12, 2019

Hamilton is slated to run May 28 to June 16, 2019, according to Broadway.com.
