TRAVIS COUNTY -- Judge Sam Biscoe has announced Travis County's new chief medical examiner after the former examiner resigned in August.
Dr. J. Keith Pinckard will officially enter the role on March 1. He will have an annual salary of $270,000.
Pinckard, 46, previously served as the deputy chief of the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator. He is a graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Dr. David Dolinack resigned in August. He served as chief medical examiner in Travis County for eight years.
