AUSTIN – A prosecutor with the Travis County District Attorney's Office was arrested over the weekend on a driving while intoxicated charge, Austin police confirmed to KVUE.
According to an arrest affidavit, police responded to a crash along the 1200 block of East 7th Street around 1 a.m. Sunday. Erika Hansen told police she was driving approximately 25-35 mph before she was distracted and struck a parked vehicle, the affidavit said.
Police said Hansen cooperated and gave a breath sample, which police said was 0.19 around 1:30 a.m. Hansen was booked on a misdemeanor DWI charge into the Travis County Jail on $3,000 bail. According to jail records obtained by KVUE's partners at the Austin American-Statesman, Hansen was released from the jail at 4:12 p.m. Sunday on a personal recognizance bond.
Attorney Rick Flores, who is representing Hansen, told KVUE's Tony Plohetski that she works in the justice family division of the district attorney's office and does not handle DWI cases.
"She was fully cooperative with the officers on the scene and intends to fully cooperate and take responsibilities for her actions," Flores said.
