AUSTIN — A chiropractor in Travis County had been operating with an expired license and now the Travis County Sheriff's Office is asking for anyone who feels they were unlawfully treated or sexually abused to come forward.

Stephen Berman's license to practice chiropractic medicine expired in September 2017 but, according to deputies, he continued to practice chiropractic care without a license and has been charged with three counts of that crime.

The sheriff's office said detectives began investigating Berman after a woman came forward, saying he touched her inappropriately and made sexual comments to her while she was getting adjusted.

When the woman confronted Berman, she said he returned her money for the visit.
