USPS employee on 'non-duty' status after reports of stolen mail in Pflugerville

According to USPS, special agents found the employee responsible for the missing mail. USPS said that employee is now on "non-duty status" and is not working at this time.

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — Several reports of stolen mail in Pflugerville, Texas, has lead to an investigation at the United States Postal Service.

Byron Goff, who lives in the Heatherwilde neighborhood in Pflugerville, told KVUE he has had stuff stolen from his mail for the last five years.

He said he's happy the person was caught and hopes there is change for the future.

"I'm pleased that they did and I feel like we've done all we can do as neighbors to try to stop this and now it's up to them to make it happen, but I'm hopeful that maybe this will end it," said Goff

Notification letters will be sent to victims and the recovered mail will be returned when the investigation is complete.
