KVUE — A nearly two-hour lockout for O. Henry Middle School has ended after the Austin Police Department said they found no credibility to a possible social media threat aimed at the school.
Austin ISD said the lockout started at 8:59 a.m. -- meaning the school operated on a normal schedule but all doors were locked. Just before 10 a.m., Austin ISD Chief of Police Ashley Gonzalez said the school was operating normally again.
District officials said the alleged threat happened around the same time as the lockout. Chief Gonzalez said the threat "was determined to be unfounded," and the lockout was initiated as a precautionary measure.
