AUSTIN -- The Westlake High School cheerleaders won their third National Championship title at Disney World Sunday.
Westlake Chaps went head to head against cheerleading squads from across the U.S at the 2015 National High School Cheerleading Championship held in Orlando, Fla.
475 teams competed at four venues at the Walt Disney World Resorts with more than 10,000 cheerleaders present from over 33 states. Every team had to qualify at a regional in order to earn a bid to Orlando.
After the first day of competition, the Chaps made the finals and was in first. On the second day, the competition was narrowed down to 14 teams before Westlake was named the national champion for the third year in a row, with an astounding 5-point lead over the second place team.
The squad is flying back from Florida tonight.
