AUSTIN — The first weekend of Austin City Limits has been an overall success despite a couple delays on Saturday for shower and lightning activity. With day 3 now upon us, many still question if they can get through the day on a dry and sunny note?
Our greatest threat for Sunday will still be a few pop-up showers and thunderstorms. Lightning cannot be ruled out. Most areas will experience a couple isolated showers; however, anticipation for flooding or prolonged heavy downpours, are not likely. Here's a look at what to expect throughout the afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., brief showers caused many festival-goers to look for cover in the Beer Hall close to the Miller Lite stage and the American Express tent near the American Express stage.
Dark clouds filled the sky and consistent winds knocked over trash cans around the festival grounds.
Some of the video screens near the stages showed messages, warning people about approaching storms in the area.
But the showers didn't last for long. The sun came back out within 10 minutes and many headed to their next shows.
A moderately strong cold front moves into Central Texas midweek that will bring scattered storms on Tuesday. In the wake of the front, cooler daytime highs and overnight lows in the 60s will be possible along with pleasant sunshine.
