WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — Texas experience major voting turnout across the Lone Star state, but Williamson County citizens topped the list for most registered voters in the county.
According to Williamson County, out of the top 12 highest populated counties, Williamson County led them all with 62.09 percent of the 336,148 registered voters in the county. Travis County came in a close second with 61.33 percent of registered voters.

“This surpasses any other midterm election we have had regarding percentage of registered voters voting,” stated Christopher Davis, elections administrator for Williamson County. “It surpasses the total number of voters in the 2016 Presidential Election.”
Williamson County said they attribute the high voting percentage partially to a combination of initiatives they took to encourage voting.

The county used an interactive polling place map that included wait times for the public to access through their computer or phone. The county also utilized social media to send out voting information and said being in a "Vote Center" county was a plus since it allowed their voters to vote at any polling location in the county.
