ROUND ROCK, Texas -- A 17-year-old has been arrested after the Williamson County Sheriff's Office said he made a terroristic threat toward another student at Westwood High School.
Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody tweeted Monday that Aleksei Dodds was arrested on the charge. He said the threat was made to only one student.
"We take these threats very seriously," Sheriff Chody said. "If you see something, say something."
According to a letter from Round Rock ISD, the student referenced bringing a gun to school and the threat was immediately reported to school administration and the sheriff's office, who took swift action in removing the student from Westwood High and placed him under arrest.
The letter states that at no time were students in danger and that appropriate legal and disciplinary actions will follow.
Round Rock ISD thanked School Resource Officer Deputy Williby for his "invaluable assistance."
"The welfare of our students is our No. 1 priority," the letter states. "We appreciate your help and support in keeping our campus safe and secure. As we continue to strive each day to promote student safety, we ask that you speak with your child about the importance of reporting anything they hear that may impact campus safety to a member of campus staff or an adult."
