TAYLOR, Texas — Two suspects are facing multiple charges, including trafficking, after a methamphetamine bust in Taylor this month.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement – including deputies, SWAT and K9 units – executed a search warrant in the 400 block of East Rio Grande Street on Wednesday, June 12. Five people were arrested in the operation for possession of methamphetamine.
One of the people charged, Edward Tito Garza, has a history of violent and drug-related offenses, including a 1992 murder conviction and multiple arrests for evading arrest, failing to identify as a fugitive and various drug charges, the sheriff’s office said.
The initial investigation led to another suspect, Claudia Gaspar, also being arrested. Gaspar was charged with trafficking of persons, while an additional charge of trafficking a child for sexual conduct was added against Garza.
Garza’s total bond is set at $600,000, while Gaspar’s bond is set at $75,000.
