AUSTIN, Texas — One lucky Austinite is about $1 million richer after they claimed a top prize winning Texas Lottery ticket last week.
Texas Lottery announced on Oct. 4 that an Austin resident claimed a Million Dollar Loteria ticket worth $1 million. The winner, who elected to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket at the Pond Springs Xpress, located at 13125 Pond Springs Road, Suite 101.
According to Texas Lottery, this was the third of 10 top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in this game. Million Dollar Loteria offers more than $384 million in total prizes, and the overall odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.29, including break-even prizes.
The Texas Lottery has generated billions in revenue for Texas since the first ticket was sold in 1992. Since 1997, Texas Lottery says it has contributed more than $33 billion to the Foundation School Fund supporting public education in Texas. Certain Texas Lottery revenues also benefit state programs, including the Fund for Veterans' Assistance.
