FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas — A 29-year-old man was arrested Monday for cocaine possession after an officer found five kilos of the drug hidden under an infant, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office said.
On Monday at approximately 12:20 p.m., Fayette County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Randy Thumann and K9 Kolt stopped a Chrysler Sebring on Interstate 10 at the 667 mile marker, eastbound, for a traffic violation.
After speaking to the driver, 29-year-old Jose Luis Robles-Andrade, Sgt. Thumann noticed indicators of drug trafficking and discrepancies in Robles-Andrade's travel itinerary.
After being given consent to search the vehicle, Sgt. Thumann found approximately five kilos of cocaine hidden in the lining of an infant's car seat, under a three-month-old infant.
Robles-Andrade was arrested for Felony Cocaine Possession and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
The street value of the cocaine was $500,000.
