Man arrested in one of Austin’s first bank robberies of 2019

Bobby Frisinger has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Austin on Jan. 18.

AUSTIN, Texas — Police have made an arrest in one of the first two bank robberies of 2019

On Jan. 18, a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank on Airport Boulevard in Austin and committed a robbery, according to an affidavit. Police have arrested Bobby Frisinger, 46, in connection to that robbery.

Frisinger allegedly approached a bank teller and handed her a note that said, "I have a gun. Give me the money from your drawer."

Frisinger told the teller to just hand him the money, police said.

After the suspect walked away, the teller pulled the bank's robbery alarm.

Police said they received an anonymous tip from the community after somebody connected Frisinger to an image they saw on the news.

After going back and searching their records, police found that Frisinger had been arrested under similar circumstances back in 2009. During that reported robbery, Frisinger allegedly passed a note to a bank teller that was similar to the note he allegedly passed to the Wells Fargo bank teller.

Frisinger is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
