Man dies days after being struck by a car while crossing I-35

The man was pronounced dead on March 30 after he was struck by a car on I-35 on March 17.

AUSTIN, Texas — According to police, a man was struck by a vehicle while he tried to cross IH-35 in the 35 block on March 17.

Police said Earnest Turner, 53, was the man who was struck by the car, which was traveling northbound.

While the crash occurred on March 17, police said Turner was not pronounced dead until March 30.

The driver of the car was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment and no charges are expected to be filed.
