AUSTIN, Texas — Mike Barnes is leaving KVUE after more than 29 years of covering sports in central Texas.
His last sportscast on the station was at 10 p.m. Friday. Mike started as a sports reporter at KVUE in 1989.
Since sports is about statistics, it’s worth noting that by his own count, Mike has anchored more than 12,000 sportscasts, covered four Super Bowls, three national championships, 12 bowl games, five Final Fours, 24 Texas-OU games and nine College World Series.
KVUE appreciates Mike’s commitment to the station, and to the viewers of central Texas for the past three decades.
