High oak pollen continues to wreak havoc for Central Texans

From yellow-covered cars to sneezing and coughing, oak and grass pollen is affecting many in Central Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas — The KVUE Storm Team recorded the highest amount of oak pollen so far this season last Tuesday with a count of more than 1,200 grains per cubic meter. The count remained high for Sunday at over 900 grains per cubic meter.

Due to breezy winds and minimal rainfall, we expect oak pollen to remain high through at least much of the work week.

The peak of oak season is usually in mid-April, but this month's recent warm weather has allowed for an early spring pollen season.
