One dead, another injured in Taylor car crash

A crash that occurred on Thursday evening killed a Taylor resident after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

TAYLOR, Texas — Police said a crash that occurred Thursday evening in Taylor killed one person and injured another after the vehicle they were in struck a guardrail and fell around 30 feet.

According to police, the driver of the pick-up truck, 20-year-old Michael Weber, lost control of the truck, leading to the crash.

Police said the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 2nd Street and exited onto Carlos Parker Blvd before losing control and falling onto the 2300 block of Welsh Street below the overpass.

18-year-old Kayla Wuensche was a passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said Weber sustained non-life threatening injuries from the crash.

Both Wuensche and Weber were named as being from Taylor by police.

An investigation into the crash is being pursued by the Taylor Police Department and they said they will present a non-arrest case to the Williamson County District Attorney for review.
