This free in-person event offers a chance to hear candidates' stances on various issues.

AUSTIN, Texas — Austinites have the chance to hear from city council candidates Thursday night in preparation for the November election.

At 6:30 p.m., a free panel will be held to allow voters to learn more about the Austin City Council District 4 candidates, including Louis Herrin, Monica Guzmàn, Eduardo "Lalito" Romero, incumbent Josè "Chito" Vela and Jim Rabuck.

The meeting is set to take place at the Permitting & Development Center, located at 6310 Wilhelmine Delco Drive.

The event is sponsored by the city of Austin, the League of Women Voters Austin Area and the Austin Ethics Review Commission. There are five additional panels also being organized by these groups.

Election Day is Nov. 5, with Districts 2, 6, 7 and 10 also on this year's ballot. Austinites will also vote for mayor.
