WASHINGTON — A new poll shows a different candidate is taking the lead in the race to become the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee.
Quinnipiac University polled about 1,500 votes nationwide last week and 25% of Democrats now say they would vote for Bernie Sanders.
Joe Biden fell to second place after the Iowa caucus, with 17% saying they would vote for him.

But when it comes to challenging President Donald Trump, Biden is still in the lead. Twenty-seven percent of those polled said he's the Democrat who would win the general election. Sanders came in second, with 24% saying he could beat the president.
But according to an average of all recent polls from RealClearPolitics.com, if Sanders were to challenge President Trump now, he would win by about four percentage points. Biden would win by about five.
