Senator John Cornyn joins governor Abbott in endorsing Trump for the 2024 presidential race

This endorsement aligns both Texas Senators in throwing their support behind the former president.

TEMPLE, Texas — In a significant political development, Senator John Cornyn has officially endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential campaign on Jan. 23.

This endorsement aligns both Texas Senators in throwing their support behind the former president.

Senator Cornyn made the announcement on "X" formally known as twitter stating,

"I have seen enough. To beat Biden, Republicans need to unite around a single candidate, and it’s clear that President Trump is Republican voters’ choice. Four more years of failed domestic policies like the Biden Border Crisis and record-high inflation, and failed foreign policies that have emboldened our adversaries and made the world a more dangerous place, must be stopped.

I am proud of our accomplishments in President Trump’s first term, including the confirmation of 234 federal judges, including three members of the United States Supreme Court; passing historic tax reform, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act; unleashing our energy potential; and ushering in the best economy for all Americans in my lifetime.

I will be continuing to work to elect a Republican Senate majority and to elect President Trump in 2024."

This announcement follows Governor Greg Abbott's endorsement of Trump's comeback campaign back in Nov. 19, during an event at the Texas-Mexico border.

“We need a president who’s going to secure the border,” Abbott, a longtime ally and fellow border hawk said. “We need Donald J. Trump back as our president of the United States of America.”
